Peter Obi Calls for Transparency in Presidential Records

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), publicly declared that he has nothing to hide concerning his personal records. During an interview on 90 Minutes Africa, he responded to claims by Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to Mexico, Reno Omokri, regarding the existence of FBI files on presidential candidates.

Obi stated he was unaware of any such files and had never interacted with the FBI. He expressed his readiness for public scrutiny, asserting that individuals seeking public office should be accountable.

Obi announced his intention to request the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), to release all documents related to his academic history, including admission details and results from his studies. He also called for similar transparency from institutions where he completed executive programs, such as Lagos Business School and prestigious universities like Harvard and Oxford.

Obi urged other presidential candidates to adopt the same level of openness, emphasizing the importance of honesty regarding past mistakes.
