ICPC Chairman Urges MDAs to Improve Ethics Compliance

On Tuesday in Abuja, Dr. Musa Aliyu (SAN), the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), addressed underperforming Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) regarding their Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard (EICS). He encouraged these MDAs to learn from those demonstrating strong ethical standards, transparency, and accountability.

The ICPC, in collaboration with the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) Programme, organized a One-Day Peer Review Roundtable for Chief Executives of both performing and non-performing MDAs. Dr. Aliyu emphasized that the EICS serves as a preventive tool for assessing compliance with ethics and standards.

He noted that the Scorecard evaluates performance across various areas, including Management Culture and Structure, Financial Management System, Administrative System, and Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU). He urged underperforming MDAs to view their scores as opportunities for improvement rather than embarrassment.

Dr. Emmanuel Uche, Component Lead of the RoLAC Programme, commended Dr. Aliyu for his efforts in strengthening institutional processes.
