ICPC to Audit Workforce for Better Anti-Corruption Alignment

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), under the leadership of Chairman Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, is set to conduct a comprehensive workforce and structural audit. This initiative aims to align the Commission's personnel structure with its anti-corruption mandate and operational needs.

Dr. Aliyu inaugurated the Workforce and Structural Audit Committee, emphasizing the necessity of addressing existing workforce imbalances that have arisen since the Commission's establishment in 2000. He noted that recruitment has occurred at irregular intervals, leading to a disproportionate concentration of middle and senior-level officers.

The audit will assess the Commission's approved structure against its actual workforce and operational requirements, identifying gaps and recommending interventions. Dr. Aliyu stressed that the process must be evidence-based, relying on institutional records rather than numerical ratios.

He clarified that the audit is not intended to reduce the workforce but to enhance effective deployment and build a merit-based structure that supports the Commission's mandate.
