Governor Wike Addresses FCTA Strike, Emphasizes Dialogue Over Protests

Governor Wike of Rivers State spoke out on the strike by workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) in Abuja, stating that the administration would not succumb to intimidation or blackmail. The workers, under the Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC), had been on strike, but Wike urged for dialogue to resolve the issues.

The Nation Industrial Court in Nigeria had granted an injunction to suspend the strike, emphasizing the need for legal due process. Wike highlighted the importance of engaging in discussions rather than resorting to protests.

The court adjourned the case until March 23, 2026, pending a substantive hearing.
