Two Herders Killed in Plateau State Ambush, IG Responds

In Plateau State, two herders, Sadiq Muhammad (28) and Maud Abdullahi (29), were killed in an ambush at Talma Village in Ngel District, Jos South Local Government Area on Monday at 8 PM. The attack occurred while they were tending to their cattle.

Ismaila Haruna, a survivor, described narrowly escaping on a motorcycle as gunmen opened fire. Following this incident, the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, deployed Assistant Inspector General of Police, Dankombo Morri, to assess the security situation in the area and implement measures to restore peace.

This deployment includes additional police personnel and tactical teams to strengthen security in the affected areas. The Inspector General expressed condolences to the families of the victims and assured residents that efforts would be intensified to ensure justice.

The recent violence in the region has raised concerns, as a previous attack in Kawel Community resulted in 22 deaths, including farmers and security personnel.
