Igbo Political Movement Endorses Tinubu for 2027 Election

On September 13, 2026, the Igbo Political Movement in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election, pledging a minimum of two million votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement was made by Chief John Amaechi Onwe, the Director-General of the Igbo Political Movement, during a press conference in Kaduna.

The group's support was based on consultations with various stakeholders, including traders, industrialists, youths, and community leaders. Onwe cited the administration's economic reforms, infrastructure projects, and support for businesses as key reasons for their endorsement.

He emphasized the need for continuity to allow these reforms to mature, highlighting projects like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway. The group also praised the increase in the monthly allowance for National Youth Service Corps members as indicative of improved welfare for young Nigerians.
