Igboho Pledges Continued Fight Against Southwest Crime Through Security Network

Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba Nation activist and creator of the Iru Ekun Security Network, has pledged an unrelenting campaign targeting criminal elements throughout South-West Nigeria. During Thursday's formal launch in Akure, Ondo State, he vowed the struggle will remain active so long as forests and communities serve as hideouts for wrongdoers.

The recent fall in cases involving kidnapping, armed robbery and banditry across the Southwest has been attributed by Igboho to joint operations between his organization and state security forces. He recognised contributions from the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Army, Department of State Services and allied agencies in this partnership.

Evidence of the approach's success appears in declining violent crime rates affecting farming communities and other settlements throughout the region. Igboho characterised safeguarding the public as everybody's obligation, transcending formal governmental involvement.

The Iru Ekun Security Network serves as his instrument for ongoing defence of both lives and assets throughout the Southwest, with the network determined to continue functioning until criminal threats are eliminated. Thursday's formal proceedings in Akure marked an important step in extending the security programme across the Southwest.

The network maintains its primary objective: stripping criminals of operational bases within the region's various settlements and outlying territories.
