Igboho Launches Iru Ekun Security Network in Ondo

Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho launched the Iru Ekun Security Network in Akure, Ondo State, stating that protecting lives and property requires a collective effort. He emphasized that the security outfit would operate across the Southwest to prevent criminal elements from exploiting the region's forests and communities.

Igboho acknowledged the tactical support from the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies. He stated that the initiative aims to restore public confidence in the government's ability to ensure a peaceful environment conducive to socioeconomic development.

Igboho reported a noticeable decrease in attacks from kidnappers, bandits, and rogue herders since the network began operations. He warned against complacency, stressing the need to prevent criminal groups from regaining a foothold in the region.

Additionally, he advocated for stronger cooperation between community-based security organizations and conventional security agencies to sustain peace and foster economic and social development.
