IGP Disu Enhances Security After Sakaba Attack

Following a terrorist attack along the Rafin Makuku axis of Sakaba Local Government Area in Kebbi State, which resulted in the deaths of ten police officers and other civilians, Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has directed the implementation of strengthened security measures. On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, a delegation led by Deputy Inspector-General of Police Umar Shehu Nadada was deployed to Kebbi State to discuss the security situation with the Executive Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, and other stakeholders.

The delegation expressed the IGP's deep concern over the loss of lives and reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to ensuring the fallen officers' sacrifices are honored. The IGP has mandated the use of all operational and intelligence resources to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.

Governor Idris commended the police for their bravery and assured continued collaboration to enhance intelligence sharing and operational efforts against criminal elements in the state.
