Wike Denies Personal Gain in Supporting Tinubu's 2027 Bid

Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, addressed claims regarding his support for Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027, asserting that his backing is not motivated by personal gain. Wike clarified that his political stance is rooted in principles rather than seeking personal advantage.

He emphasized that his previous service as governor was not aimed at winning personal benefits but rather contributing to national progress. Wike made these statements during a media interaction in Abuja on Friday.

His comments came in the context of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) expressing satisfaction with the recent decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remove the names of former Senate President David Mark and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola from its portal.
