NIS Relocates London Passport Intervention Venue

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has moved its London passport intervention exercise to a new venue at 56–57 Fleet Street, Temple, London, EC4Y 1JU, after Nigerians attending the exercise were allegedly evicted from Liyali Lounge. This change was communicated via an email from the Nigeria High Commission in London at 9:39 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026, to applicants scheduled for appointments the following day.

The High Commission attributed the relocation to “unforeseen technical challenges,” without providing details about these challenges or mentioning any payment disputes. The move followed an X post by Olamide Obe, who claimed attendees were asked to leave Liyali Lounge.

The UK intervention was initiated by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who directed the deployment of a dedicated Passport Intervention Team from NIS headquarters in Abuja to assist Nigerians in the diaspora with passport services. Applicants were required to provide a prepaid Royal Mail C4 special delivery self-addressed envelope for passport delivery.
