Imo Council Chairman Denies Impeachment of Leader

Princ Obioha Ndukw, the Chairman of Ihitt Uboma Local Government Area in Imo State, publicly denied reports claiming that the legislative leader, Kennedi Egeonu, had been impeached. Ndukw described these allegations as false and misleading, urging members of the public to disregard them.

He clarified that no impeachment had taken place and that the council had not received any official report regarding such claims. Ndukw explained that legislative leadership changes cannot occur based on rumors and emphasized the importance of following proper legal procedures.

He noted that the circulation of these unfounded allegations had already created unnecessary confusion among residents and political stakeholders. Ndukw called for political actors to focus on their official duties and avoid actions that could deepen divisions within the council.

He reiterated that the council remains committed to governance and development, with ongoing efforts in road rehabilitation, security improvements, and market development as top priorities.
