Igboho Proposes Security for Oyo Public Schools

Sundai Igboho, a Yoruba nation activist, has written to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, expressing readiness to deploy personnel from his private security outfit, Iru Ekun Security Network, to secure public schools across Oyo State. This proposal follows a series of abductions, including the kidnapping of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area on May 15, 2026.

In his letter dated June 9, 2026, Igboho outlined plans to station at least two trained members of his security outfit at identified public schools to monitor access points and prevent criminal activities. The letter, co-signed by Junaid Sanusi, Igboho's legal adviser, also suggested the possibility of erecting fences around schools to enhance security.

The Iru Ekun Security Network reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate with the Oyo State Government and other stakeholders to improve school security and restore public confidence in education.
