Kwara PDP Youth Demand Action on Insecurity After Rescues

The youth in the Kwara State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), led by state PDP Youth Leader Adio Friday Odunjo, called on the state government to establish comprehensive security measures to prevent educational institutions and communities from becoming victims of insecurity. This demand followed the recent rescue of approximately 167 kidnap victims from Woro and Nuku communities by security agencies.

Odunjo stated that the rescue should not be the end of the story, advocating for rehabilitation, justice, prevention, and institutional learning to avoid future tragedies. The youth condemned ongoing academic disruptions, including the closure of the State School of Nursing in Oke Ode and the relocation of the NYSC orientation camp.

They insisted that every school closure due to insecurity must come with a clear security plan and support programs. The PDP youth also urged young people to engage in politics beyond elections, emphasizing the importance of community safety, employment opportunities, and government accountability.
