PDP Youth Demand Action Plan for Kwara Insecurity

The youth wing of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara has called for a comprehensive action plan to address insecurity in the state following the recent rescue of abducted residents from Woro and Nuku communities. During an event in Ilorin commemorating International Youth Day, state Youth Leader Adio Friday Odunjo praised security agencies for their efforts but stressed that successful rescue operations must be complemented by measures to prevent future attacks and support victims.

Odunjo highlighted the adverse effects of insecurity on education, citing the closure of the State School of Nursing in Oke Ode, the relocation of the NYSC orientation camp from Yikpata to Kwara State Polytechnic, and the merger of several schools for NECO examinations. He insisted that every institution affected by insecurity should have a defined recovery plan, including security strategies and academic support.

The PDP youth linked insecurity to youth unemployment and called for greater economic opportunities to mitigate the underlying causes of insecurity.
