Dalung Condemns Selective Killings in Plateau State

Solomon Dalung, a former Minister of Youth and Sports, condemned the recent selective killings of travelers in Plateau State, specifically referencing the murder of four young traders in Dorowa, Babuj, Barakin Ladi Local Government Area on February 23. He described these killings as barbaric, unacceptable, and a sign that the country has not moved beyond a dark era of ethnic and religious profiling.

Dalung highlighted that the victims were reportedly returning from the Pankshin Monday market when they were attacked. He noted that this incident follows a pattern of violence, including a separate attack where nine people lost their lives.

Dalung cautioned that such incidents could lead to a cycle of retaliatory violence, further escalating tensions in the region. He called on security agencies to fulfill their constitutional mandate to protect lives and property and urged the identification and prosecution of those responsible for these killings.

Dalung extended condolences to the victims' families and appealed for peace in Plateau State.
