TG Omori Faces Extortion Nightmare During Lagos Shoot

TG Omori, a celebrated music video director in Nigeria, recounted a troubling incident that occurred during a shoot on a private property in Ikoyi, Lagos. On September 23, 2026, he described how more than 30 area boys attempted to force their way onto his set at 3:00 AM.

Despite having legally secured the location and having security in place, Omori found himself outside for nearly an hour trying to calm the disruptive crowd. He emphasized that this type of extortion has escalated into high-end environments where it is unwarranted.

Omori acknowledged the necessity of engaging local leaders to prevent such disruptions, a practice he follows when shooting in inner-city neighborhoods like Mushin. The incident resulted in lost time, lost shots, and an over-budget production.

He chose not to escalate the situation to violence, understanding the potential damage to his professional reputation.
