Fireboy DML Reflects on Lagos Culture Shock Experience

Fireboy DML, an Afrobeats singer, recounted his cultural shock after relocating to Lagos to pursue his music career. During a recent livestream, he described his fear upon arriving in the city in 2016, particularly in Surulere, where he found the local populace intimidating.

He noted that people's eyes appeared red and scary, and within two weeks, he witnessed alarming sights, including someone running mad and dead bodies on the streets. He also mentioned the presence of cultists, which added to his fear.

Despite these daunting experiences, Fireboy DML chose not to give up and instead adapted to the lifestyle of Lagos, humorously stating that he now resembles the "scary people" he once feared.
