ITU Launches AI Startup Applications for Education Solutions

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has announced the opening of applications for its AI Good Innovation Factory program, aimed at supporting startups that develop artificial intelligence solutions to tackle challenges in the education sector. The initiative encourages the use of AI and machine learning to enhance access to quality education worldwide.

Selected innovations will be showcased at a startup pitch session, culminating in a grand final at the AI Good Global Summit 2026 in Geneva. The program offers startups opportunities for funding, expert mentorship, and media exposure.

The focus is on improving educational methods and personal learning experiences, particularly in underserved communities, including Nigeria, where the e-learning sector is expected to grow due to increased demand for online learning tools, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative aims to leverage AI to potentially improve student performance by 40%.
