Iwerekun Community Senior High School Wins Tolaram Challenge

Iwerekun Community Senior High School in Ibeju Lekki emerged as the winner of the 10th Tolaram Science Challenge, marking its third consecutive victory. The school triumphed over Magbon Alad Senior Grammar School in a competitive grand final.

The Tolaram Science Challenge, sponsored by the Lagos Free Zone, is an annual science competition aimed at showcasing innovative ideas and practical solutions to real-world challenges in STEM education. Sixteen secondary schools participated, with students tested in five core subjects: physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and general knowledge.

The competition also awarded scholarships to thirty-two students for outstanding performance in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Binai Saraf, representing the Lagos Free Zone, and Adesuwa Ladoja emphasized the importance of the competition in fostering a culture of excellence and encouraging students to pursue science.

Fawaz Alayo, the team captain of Iwerekun Community Senior High School, expressed excitement over their achievement, attributing success to the immense support from teachers.
