Alex Iwobi Set for 100th Cap with Super Eagles

Alex Iwobi will become the fourth player to reach 100 appearances for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, joining Joseph Yobo, Vincent Enyeama, and Ahmed Musa. This milestone will occur during a match in Leiria, Portugal, on Wednesday.

Iwobi made his debut for Nigeria in a friendly against DR Congo in Belgium on October 8, 2015. He expressed pride in representing Nigeria, stating he felt at home in the U-23 team camp and has no regrets about choosing to play for Nigeria over England.

His favorite moment with the national team was scoring a goal against Zambia at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo in October 2017, a match that secured Nigeria's qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Iwobi's father, Chuka Iwobi, a former footballer, expressed immense pride in his son's achievements, which include participating in four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and scoring 10 goals with eight assists in his 99 appearances.
