Jigawa CP Murtala Enhances Security at Federal University Dutse

Tijjani Murtala, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Jigawa State, engaged with the management of the Federal University Dutse (FUD) during a courtesy visit. The delegation, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ahmad Muhammed Gumel, aimed to strengthen collaboration on security and crime prevention.

Gumel expressed concerns about the rise of cult-related activities and antisocial behaviors among students, highlighting the necessity for early intervention and promoting discipline and academic excellence. Murtala assured the university management of the police's commitment to safeguarding educational institutions, emphasizing a preventive and community-oriented approach to security challenges.

He called for enhanced internal mechanisms at the university for identifying suspicious activities and stressed the importance of timely information sharing with the police. Murtala reiterated the shared responsibility of security among police, university authorities, students, and community leaders, promising regular engagement and increased security measures around the university.
