Jigawa PDP to Contest All Seats in 2027 Elections

The Jigawa State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has declared its commitment to contest all available seats in the upcoming 2027 general elections. This announcement was made by the state chairman, Prof.

Babandi Gumel, during a joint meeting at the PDP secretariat in Dutse. He dismissed rumors of potential defections within the party, attributing such speculation to political opponents.

Gumel assured that the PDP remains united and focused on reclaiming power in Jigawa State, highlighting the leadership of former governor Dr. Sule Lamido as unmatched.

He urged local government party leaders to intensify efforts in registering members to ensure participation in the party's primaries. Additionally, a 13-member committee was constituted to oversee the sale of nomination forms and screen aspirants, reinforcing the PDP's strategy to compete strongly in the 2027 elections despite ongoing political speculation.
