IGP Tunji Disu Backs Nigerian Judo Federation for 2026

The Nigerian Judo Federation (NJF), led by president Musa Oshodi, met with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tunji Disu at the Nigerian Police Force headquarters in Abuja to discuss support for the upcoming 2026 IGP Judo Championship. During the meeting, Oshodi emphasized the importance of collaboration between the NJF and the Nigerian Police Force to deepen their partnership.

He made three key requests to the IGP: first, to seek sponsorship support for the championship; second, to propose closer collaboration to intensify judo training as a means of enhancing kinetic defense; and third, to attract individual and corporate sponsors for the federation. Disu, a former judo athlete and holder of a fourth dan black belt, expressed his commitment to the NJF's goals and the values of discipline, resilience, and respect that judo instills.

He assured the delegation of his readiness to partner with the federation, aiming to strengthen the role of judo in national security and training.
