NJF Secures IGP's Support for 2026 Judo Championships

The Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF), represented by President Dr. Musa Oshodi, visited Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tunji Disu at the Force Headquarters in Abuja to discuss collaboration for the upcoming 2026 Judo Championships.

During the meeting, Dr. Oshodi requested sponsorship support for the event, proposed closer collaboration with the Nigeria Police to enhance judo training, and sought assistance in attracting individual and corporate sponsors.

IGP Tunji Disu, who holds a 4th Dan black belt and serves as a life patron of the NJF, assured the delegation of his readiness to support the federation's goals. He emphasized the value of discipline, resilience, and respect that judo instills, expressing a desire to see these values spread within the police force.

Dr. Oshodi expressed optimism that the partnership would yield tangible results ahead of the championships, reinforcing judo's role as a competitive sport and a tool for building discipline and tactical capacity within security agencies.
