Julius Berger Launches Climate Change Awareness Tour

Julius Berger Nigeria PLC has committed to the Renewed Hope Climate Change Awareness Tour, which aims to promote climate resilience and sustainable development throughout Nigeria. The initiative was inaugurated at a conference held at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who represented the Minister of Environment, Balarab Abba Lawal, urged governors and private sector stakeholders to accelerate Nigeria's transition to a resilient, low-carbon economy. Tinubu highlighted that Nigeria is at a defining moment in its global transition and called for innovative opportunities for sustainable development.

The tour will engage various stakeholders, including traditional rulers, students, and entrepreneurs, to identify local solutions and unlock climate finance. Halima Bawa, Director of Forestry at the Ministry, stressed the urgency of confronting climate change, while Yussuf Kelani, representing the REHCCAT, emphasized the need for local-led adaptation and capacity building.

The event also featured Prof. Babajid Alo, who called for action at all levels to secure Nigeria's climate future.
