Building Collapse in Wuse Zone 3 After Being Sealed

On Monday evening, a building located on Abidjan Street in Wuse Zone 3 collapsed, prompting an emergency response from multiple federal and FCT agencies. The structure had been flagged and sealed by authorities prior to the incident.

The FCT Police Command received a distress call at approximately 7:45 PM and quickly dispatched a response team. Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, stated that the response team included personnel from the National Emergency Management Agency, Federal Road Safety Corps, Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, Federal Fire Service, Security Service Department, and the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

Preliminary findings indicated that the building had already been identified as a risk. As of the latest updates, no deaths or injuries had been reported, but search and rescue teams remained on-site to check for any individuals trapped under the rubble.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collapse, and residents have been advised to avoid the area to facilitate emergency operations.
