Khalil Mohd Bello, a representative of KACRAN, appealed to pastoralists and farmers to safeguard farmlands and grazing routes to protect national peace and food security. Bello warned that every hectare of farmland must be protected to prevent losses, especially as the country enters the 2026-2027 farming season amid ongoing economic hardships and rising fuel prices following subsidy removals.

He noted that Nigeria is grappling with multiple security challenges, which disrupt agricultural production and displace millions. Additionally, Bello commended Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni for reducing tractor hire costs from 100,000 to 50,000 naira per day, an effort aimed at reclaiming grazing reserves and providing water infrastructure for livestock.
