Birnin Gwari LGA Seeks Development in Key Sectors

Hon. Dr Salisu Isah, the Chairman of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area in Kaduna State, has made a formal appeal to both the Federal and Kaduna state governments to extend their development efforts to include electricity, education, and healthcare. This appeal coincides with the commencement of the ₦177 billion reconstruction of the 122-kilometre Mando-Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road, a project he believes will significantly improve the local economy and infrastructure after years of insecurity.

Currently, nine of the 11 wards in Birnin Gwari lack connection to the national electricity grid, which Isah argues is crucial for enhancing education, healthcare, agriculture, and local businesses. He also called for the establishment of higher educational institutions and a JAMB examination centre in the area.

Furthermore, Isah urged the revival of the abandoned Gwargwaje-Zaria Road project and the rehabilitation of educational and healthcare facilities, emphasizing the need for comprehensive development to secure a better future for the youth of Birnin Gwari.
