Kaduna Governor Pledges Support for Lynched Teacher's Family

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani pledged to take responsibility for the welfare of the family of Ummulkhairi Aliyu, an Islamic teacher who was lynched by a mob on June 14 in Maraban Jo, Igabi Local Government Area. During a condolence visit to the bereaved family, Sani assured that the state government would support Aliyu's husband and their four children, including sponsoring their education.

He condemned the mob action as barbaric and confirmed that 41 individuals have been charged with culpable homicide, with a total of 82 suspects under investigation. Sani emphasized that no one involved in the killing would escape justice, regardless of their status, and directed security agencies to ensure thorough investigations.

The Kaduna State Police Command has launched an intensive investigation, leading to the arrest and arraignment of several suspects. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation from religious leaders and human rights advocates, calling for stronger measures to curb mob violence.
