Kaduna State Supports Families of Slain Priest and Mob Victim

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, expressed his administration's commitment to supporting victims of violence by providing housing, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment. This statement followed courtesy visits from Mrs.

Sarah Achi, widow of the late Ven. Edwin Achi, and Usman Aliyu, husband of the late Ummulkhair Aliyu.

Both families thanked the government for its support after the tragic deaths of their loved ones. Ven.

Edwin Achi, the priest-in-charge of Ebenezer Anglican Church, was abducted on October 28, 2025, and died in captivity in late November 2025. His wife and daughter were released on January 15, 2026.

Ummulkhair Aliyu, an Islamic teacher, was killed by a mob in Maraban Jos. Governor Sani noted that his administration provided each family with a home, financial support, and educational assistance for their children.

He emphasized ongoing efforts to restore hope and dignity to victims of violence and to work with various stakeholders for a safer Kaduna.
