Kaduna Leads in Land Administration, Says Deputy Governor

During a courtesy visit from the World Bank at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Monday, Dr. Hadiza Balarab, the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, disclosed that Kaduna is a leader in land administration.

She commended Governor Uba Sani for upgrading the Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), which has enabled the federal government to select the state for sub-national initiatives. Despite significant progress in digitizing land administration, Dr.

Balarab emphasized the need for additional support to accelerate ongoing reforms. She promised collaboration with the federal government and the World Bank to ensure the success of the National Land Titling Reform and Development Programme (NLTRDP).

Dr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim, the Director General of KADGIS, praised Governor Uba Sani for introducing new revenue lines and regularizing 100 layouts.

The World Bank's intervention is deemed necessary to upgrade the land administration system, which currently cannot accommodate the volume of customer activities. The goal is to create a seamless online bill payment system and improve transparency in land title registration.
