Kaduna Police Arrest 16 Kidnappers, Recover N69M Inverters

The Kaduna State Police Command announced the dismantling of several kidnapping and criminal syndicates, resulting in the arrest of 16 suspected kidnappers, three alleged gunrunners, and six individuals linked to a counterfeit currency operation. During these coordinated operations over the past two weeks, police recovered 190 stolen solar inverters valued at N69 million, 10 firearms, 170 counterfeit US dollar notes, 83 packs of hard drugs, 32 stolen mobile phones, two plasma televisions, a stolen Toyota Sienna vehicle, and 410 rustled cattle.
Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad briefed journalists in Kaduna, stating that these successes were achieved through intelligence-led operations in collaboration with other security agencies, including the military and the Department of State Services (DSS). The police also arrested Aisha Barau, a 20-year-old woman, for attempting to exchange counterfeit US dollar notes.
Investigations led to further arrests within the counterfeit currency syndicate, while three suspected gunrunners were apprehended in Jos, Plateau State, with two locally fabricated pistols recovered from them.
