Police Recover ₦59.2m Solar Inverters in Kano Operation

The Kano State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, announced the recovery of 160 solar inverters valued at ₦59.2 million. The inverters were discovered in an uncompleted building at Haye Quarters, Kano, following the arrest of 43-year-old Abdullahi Isah, who was allegedly selling them at suspiciously low prices.

The Command urged residents who may have lost similar inverters to report to the Sharada Division for identification and recovery. In a separate operation, the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) arrested three suspects—Bishir Abubakar (60), Shamsu Abdullahi (30), and Alhaji Shamsu Lawan (56)—in connection with the armed robbery of Jajire Filling Station in Gaya LGA, where six fuel dispensing machines worth ₦10.2 million were stolen.

The suspects confessed to purchasing the stolen machines from an accomplice based in Kaduna for ₦5.2 million. Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori commended the officers for their swift action and professionalism, reiterating the Command's commitment to dismantling criminal networks in the state.
