Police Recover ₦59.2m Stolen Solar Inverters in Kano

The Kano State Police Command recovered 160 suspected stolen solar inverters valued at ₦59.2 million and arrested four suspects in operations related to theft and armed robbery. The police, through a statement by spokesman CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, reported that the recoveries occurred within 48 hours due to intelligence-led operations by the Sharada Police Division and the Special Intervention Squad.

On July 29, police arrested 43-year-old Abdullahi Isah after he advertised large quantities of solar inverters at suspiciously low prices. A follow-up search led to the recovery of the inverters from an uncompleted building at Haye Quarters.

The police urged the public to report any lost solar inverters for identification. In a separate operation, three suspects were arrested for stealing six fuel dispensing machines valued at ₦10.2 million from Jajire Filling Station on July 25.

The suspects confessed to purchasing the machines from Usman Ibrahim of Kaduna State. Ongoing investigations aim to identify additional suspects and recover the stolen items.
