Kaduna Polytechnic Wins N50m JAMB Merit Award

Kaduna Polytechnic has emerged as Nigeria's best polytechnic, winning a N50 million merit award from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) during the 5th edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance Merit Award (NATAP-M). The award was based on a comprehensive assessment of the institution's performance across five indicators, resulting in an aggregate score of 10 points for the 2023/2024 admission cycle.

Ahmadu Bello University was recognized as the best-performing university, earning a prize of N500 million, while the University of Ilorin and Nile University of Nigeria secured second and third places, respectively, with awards of N75 million and N25 million. The Federal College of Education also received a N50 million award in the college category.

Dr. Suleiman Umar, the rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, praised JAMB for its transparent selection process and acknowledged the efforts of the institution's governing council and staff in achieving this recognition, which reflects the polytechnic's commitment to maintaining a conducive learning environment and enhancing access to quality technical education in Nigeria and across Africa.
