TUC Commends Kaduna Governor, Seeks Reinstatement of Workers

The Trade Union Congress (TUC), Kaduna state council, passed a vote of confidence in Governor Uba Sani's administration during an emergency state executive council meeting on Friday. The union praised the governor for enhancing workers' welfare, job security, and fostering harmonious relations with organized labor.

Mohammed, the TUC commended the state government for ending unnecessary retrenchment and improving staff promotions. The union highlighted the reinstatement of 37 staff from the Local Government Service Commission, approved by Governor Uba Sani on August 15, 2026.

Additionally, the TUC appealed for the reinstatement of 83 workers from KADIRS, KASUPDA, and other agencies, who were wrongfully disengaged in 2019, noting that thirteen of these workers had died and their cases were ruled in their favor by the Industrial Court in Kaduna. The TUC reaffirmed its commitment to constructive engagement with the government.
