Woman Loses Newborn, Daughter in Kaduna Terror Escape

A woman, who was abducted during an attack on the Ariko community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna state, gave birth under dire conditions in a terrorists' camp. After spending 180 days in captivity, she escaped on Saturday with her three surviving daughters.

The woman was heavily pregnant at the time of her abduction, which included her four children. The newborn, delivered without medical assistance, died after three weeks.

Tragically, during their escape, her four-year-old daughter, Christy, who had become critically ill, died while they were fleeing. The family faced extreme challenges, walking barefoot through the forest, with the mother and her 12-year-old daughter taking turns carrying Christy's body.

They eventually reached a village in Kachia LGA on Sunday afternoon, where they received aid and are currently receiving medical attention.
