Terrorists Kill One, Abduct 11 in Kaduna Attack

On June 28, a terrorist attack in Ungwan Atiku village, Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State, resulted in the death of Mr. Joseph Simon and the abduction of 11 residents, including three nursing mothers.

The victims identified are Deborah David, Rejoic Jonathan, Lois Geoffrei, Gerard Geoffrei, Merci Timothi, Jummai Sundai, and Wisdom Doctor. This incident exacerbates the ongoing humanitarian crisis in southern Kaduna, where many residents remain captives following previous attacks.

Mr. Reuben Buhari, a former media aide to the late Kaduna State Governor Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, reported the attack via social media.

The community leaders have been appealing for the rescue of the abducted individuals, who have spent significant time in captivity. Survivors from earlier kidnappings have shared harrowing accounts of their experiences, highlighting the dire conditions faced by those held captive, including lack of medical care and poor sanitation.

The repeated attacks have disrupted daily life, including farming and education, prompting calls for intensified security measures to protect rural communities.
