Kano State to Install Toll Gates for Enhanced Security

The Kano State Government has announced plans to install toll gates on major roads to improve vehicular movement surveillance and reinforce security. Adamu Abdullahi, the Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, disclosed this initiative, which is part of a broader strategy to enhance security and socio-economic development in the region.

Proposed locations for the toll gates include Katsina Road, Gwarzo Road, Zaria Road, Maiduguri Road, Kano-Daura Road, and Hadejia Road. The project will be overseen by Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, who officiated the handover of seven project sites to contractors.

The government emphasized that the toll gates will serve as strategic control points to regulate vehicular inflow and monitor infrastructure improvements. The commission urged contractors to adhere strictly to approved specifications and timelines to ensure the project's timely completion, which aligns with the government's commitment to safeguarding lives and properties.
