Nigerian Government to Enhance Safety on Sokoto-Badagry Highway with CCTV and Lighting

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Ministry of Works, is committed to improving the safety and durability of the Sokoto-Badagry Highway, a 1,068-kilometer road project. The project aims to transform the economy and guarantee the safety of road users along its corridor.

The highway, which stretches from Sokoto in the north to Badagry in the south, passes through states like Kebbi, Kwara, and Lagos. The incorporation of modern infrastructure features such as CCTV surveillance systems and street lighting is intended to enhance security and ensure efficient movement of people and goods within Nigeria and neighboring countries like Niger and Benin Republic.

Hitech Construction Company Limited is responsible for the construction, with Mr. Joharn Foucic confirming the smooth progress of the project.

Senior government officials, including Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have reassured the public of the government's commitment to providing adequate security for the speedy completion of the project.
