Kano Donates PPE to Bayero University for Disease Control

On August 25, 2026, the Kano State Centre for Disease Control (KNCDC) donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Bayero University, Kano (BUK) to strengthen disease prevention and infection control within the university community. The donation was presented by the Director-General of KNCDC, Professor Muhammad Adamu Abbas, during a courtesy visit to the university.

Abbas reiterated the agency's commitment to collaborating with BUK in disease outbreak prevention, early detection, and effective response. In response, the Vice-Chancellor of BUK, Professor Haruna Musa, fsi, expressed gratitude for the donation, highlighting its significance in protecting students and promoting a safer hostel environment.

The PPE included face masks, gowns, examination gloves, and surgical gloves. This intervention builds on previous support from KNCDC, which included essential medicines and laboratory materials, as well as training for a University Health Services laboratory scientist in sample management, transportation, and referral.

The partnership aims to enhance preparedness and response mechanisms for infectious disease threats in the university and the broader community.
