Kano Governor Yusuf Launches Sickle Cell Centre in Kano

On Tuesday, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State, commissioned the Kano State Centre for Disease Control (KNCDC) headquarters and inaugurated the Abba Care Sickle Cell Centre located at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital. This initiative is part of his administration's efforts to enhance healthcare delivery in the state.

During the ceremony, Yusuf flagged off the distribution of 3,000 customized digital blood pressure monitors to senior public servants and political appointees, along with maternal and neonatal health commodities. Additional supplies included accident and emergency resources and 4,855 bed sheets for secondary healthcare facilities across Kano State.

Yusuf emphasized that these initiatives demonstrate his administration's commitment to improving access to quality healthcare, especially for vulnerable populations. He stated, “Today marks a defining moment in the history of Kano state,” highlighting the significance of the projects launched.
