Kano Governor Offers Scholarships to Sports Writers

Kano State Governor Sani Musa Danja disclosed the offer of scholarships to ten members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano chapter, to cover tuition fees for a diploma in sports journalism at the University of London. This initiative aims to empower sports writers in Kano State, who face challenges in acquiring the necessary professional qualifications.

During an interaction with SWAN members at the Kano State Library Complex, Danja emphasized the urgent need to support sports journalists in obtaining requisite qualifications to enhance their professional capabilities. He acknowledged the significant challenges faced by sports journalists and reiterated the government's commitment to investing in the development of human resources in the state.

Zahradeen Saleh, the chairman of SWAN Kano State chapter, expressed gratitude for the scholarship, describing it as a major step toward uplifting sports journalism in the state and contributing to the overall development of sports media.
