NIPR Kano Chapter Promotes World PR Forum to Government

The Kano chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), led by Sule Ya’u Sule from Bayero University Kano, conducted a sensitization walk to raise awareness about the World PR Forum and formally inform the Kano State Government about the event. The forum aims to gather public relations practitioners globally to discuss emerging trends, including revising the definition of public relations established in Mexico in 1978.
The walk concluded at the Government House, where Sule conveyed the message to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf through the Director-General of Media and Publicity, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa. Dawakin Tofa acknowledged the importance of public relations in promoting peace and transparency, stating that the governor had committed to supporting the welfare and training of practitioners.
He revealed that over N200 million was spent in 2025 on media support, with more than N150 million allocated in 2026 for welfare interventions. The Kano State Government will also sponsor a Northwest Regional Media Security Summit the following week.
