Kano Pillars Fined N15m for Fan Misconduct in NPFL

Kano Pillars has been fined N15 million by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) due to fan misconduct during a match against Rivers United. The misconduct included fans encroaching onto the pitch and engaging in gross misconduct against match officials, which undermined the integrity of the league.

As a result of this breach, Kano Pillars will be required to play their next three home matches behind closed doors for the remainder of the current season and the first two matches of the next season. The club has 48 hours from the date of notice to appeal the sanction.

Additionally, NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi announced that the league will observe a break for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President's Cup window, which is designed to ensure seamless operations at the start of the season. The NPFL matches will resume on May 3 and May 10, with the last game of the season scheduled for May 24.
