Kano Police Finalize Security for Dawakin Kudu Election

The Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) has finalized security arrangements for the Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area State Constituency by-election scheduled for September 19, 2026. This decision was made during a strategic security meeting chaired by Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

The meeting reviewed security plans, intelligence reports, and identified potential flashpoints while assessing logistics to ensure a peaceful election. CP Bakori confirmed that adequate personnel, intelligence assets, and operational resources would be deployed to polling units, collation centers, and other strategic locations.

Zango Abdu, the Resident Electoral Commissioner and ICCES Chairman in Kano, stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had completed arrangements for the election, including the deployment of electoral materials.
