Katsina Governor Launches Car Loan Scheme for Magistrates

On Thursday, Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda unveiled plans for a car loan scheme aimed at magistrates to improve their welfare and address transportation challenges. This announcement was made during the launch of the Hospitality Bar Journal, a collaboration between the Nigerian Bar Association, Katsina Branch, and the State Ministry of Justice.

Radda indicated that the proposed 2027 budget would include provisions to tackle court congestion, enhance working conditions for judicial officers, and strengthen judicial manpower. He noted that the state government had increased the number of judges over the past two years and would consider further appointments due to the growing workload.

Additionally, Radda pledged support for accommodation for judicial officers and sponsorship for their participation in international seminars. He commended the judiciary's collaboration with the executive branch and praised the NBA Katsina Branch for producing the journal, purchasing 50 copies for N10 million.

Attorney-General Fadila Dikko and NBA Katsina Branch Chairman Shafiu Umar also spoke on the journal's significance for legal research and collaboration.
