Katsina Police Arrest Female Shoplifter, Recover N10M Goods

On March 4, 2026, the Katsina Police Command, led by DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, arrested a female shoplifter following reports of repeated theft incidents at a commercial facility known as Green House in Katsina. The suspect was identified through CCTV footage, which showed her discreetly stealing various goods.

Subsequent investigations led to her arrest, and a search of her residence uncovered a significant cache of stolen items valued at N10,102,000. The recovered items included 274 sets of shoes, 37 pairs of veils, 67 sportswear sets, 54 children's outfits, 123 pairs of caps, and various other goods such as handbags, spaghetti, perfumes, soaps, and cooking spices.

The police confirmed that the suspect confessed to her crimes during interrogation and has a history of shoplifting across multiple locations in the state. She has been charged in court and is facing prosecution.

The police urged business owners to enhance security measures to protect their shops.
