Woman Arrested for N10m Theft in Katsina Mall

Hadiza Ibrahim, a 27-year-old woman, was arrested by the Katsina State Police Command for allegedly stealing goods valued at N10,102,000 from the Green House Shop Mall in Katsina. The arrest was confirmed by DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the command's public relations officer, on March 4, 2026.

The police received a report from the chief security officer of the mall regarding a shoplifting incident. Following the report, the police analyzed CCTV footage, which showed Ibrahim stealing various items.

A subsequent search of her residence led to the recovery of stolen items, including 74 sets of shoes, 37 pairs of veils, 67 sets of sportswear, 54 sets of children's wear, 123 pairs of caps, 315 sets of socks, 45 pairs of women's wrappers, 9 handbags, 3 cartons of spaghetti, 24 bottles of perfume, 5 cartons of soap, and various jewelry and cooking spices. Ibrahim reportedly confessed to the offense and is set to be prosecuted by the Katsina State Police Command, which has urged shop owners to remain vigilant.
